Dr. Nor Farah binti Bakhtiar, Head of Infection Control Unit, Ministry of Health Malaysia together with Dr Noralfazita binti An @ Amran, Infectious Disease Physician from HSAH, representing Malaysia at the Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) and Clinical Diagnostic Stewardship (CDS) Workshop held in Japan from 14–16 September 2026.
Malaysia had the opportunity to share our experiences and perspectives with participants from other countries on strengthening AMS and CDS at the national, hospital and primary care levels.
Moving forward, Malaysia will continue to strengthen and further advance the implementation of AMS and CDS across the country, supporting better clinical management and our efforts to address antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
The workshop was also featured in a joint news release by WPRO and the Government of Japan, highlighting the importance of strengthening AMS and CDS to support better patient care and address AMR across the Western Pacific Region.
