ANNOUNCEMENT: REGISTRATION OF TRADITIONAL AND COMPLEMENTARY MEDICINE (T&CM) PRACTITIONERS FOR GRADUATES OF T&CM TWINNING PROGRAMMES WITH FOREIGN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

 

Kindly be informed that the Traditional and Complementary Medicine (T&CM) Council Meeting No. 4/2021 which convened on 22 October 2021 has made the following decisions:

 

  • Any local higher education institution that intends to offer a twinning programme in T&CM with a foreign higher education institution at the qualification level recognized by the T&CM Council must obtain accreditation from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). Qualifications obtained via a twinning programme without the relevant accreditation where the student intake is after the date of this Meeting (22 October 2021) will not be accepted; and

 

  • Students who register for a twinning programme in T&CM after the date of this Meeting (22 October 2021) must submit additional supporting documents such as a copy of visa/ passport etc. to prove the period of study at the foreign higher education institution.

 

Therefore, for students who register to pursue twinning programmes in T&CM with foreign higher education institutions after 22 October 2021, upon application for registration as a T&CM practitioner with the T&CM Council to the Registrar, applicants from this category must submit all the required documents as stated in the Guidelines for Registration of Local T&CM Practitioner AND additional supporting documents as follows:

 

1. A certified copy of the passport for all pages containing:
 
  • biometric information of passport holders;
  • student visa or permit from the country concerned; and
  • immigration stamp denoting entry and exit from the country.
2. A letter of confirmation from the foreign higher education institution issuing the qualification stating that the applicant is a bonafide graduate of the twinning programme undertaken and has successfully graduated; and
3. A certified copy of a student card from the foreign higher education institution issuing the qualification.
