Policy and Development Section

 

Introduction of Professional Development Section

The Policy and Development Section is one of the 6 sections under the Traditional and Complementary Medicine Division (T&CMD), Ministry of Health Malaysia. The main function of this section is to develop policies and to implement the T&CM practices that are proven to be safe and effective into the national healthcare system.

The Head of Policy & Development Section oversees 2 units under this section, namely Development Unit and Policy and International Relations Unit. 

 

The functions of each unit in the Policy and Development Section are as follows: 

1. Development Unit

  • To plan, arrange and monitor activities for the development of T&CM services into the national healthcare system
  • To observe, plan and monitor T&CM service provision in MOH facilities
  • To observe, plan and monitor the operation and development of T&CM Branch Offices in Malaysia.

 

2. Policy and International Relations Unit 

  • To plan, formulate and coordinate the implementation of policies and strategies related to T&CM.
  • To plan and review existing and new legislation and regulations related to T&CM.
  • To plan and manage international relations and strategic cooperation activities related to T&CM
  • To coordinate parliamentary affairs at the departmental level.
  • To plan, manage and monitor the activities of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine.
  • To plan and manage work visit programs and meetings involving international delegations
  • To provide input/ talking points, press statements, and media responses related to MOH's position in the field of T&CM
