IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH (MOH) TRADITIONAL AND COMPLEMENTARY MEDICINE (T&CM) FORMULARY AND GUIDELINES FOR LISTING AND DELISTING OF T&CM PRODUCTS IN THE MOH HEALTHCARE FACILITIES

In line with the Malaysian National Medicines Policy (DUNas) 2022–2026 and the National Traditional and Complementary Medicine Blueprint (Healthcare) 2018–2027, the MOH T&CM Formulary and the Guidelines for the Listing and Delisting of T&CM Products in MOH Health Facilities have been developed as guidance for healthcare facilities.

The MOH T&CM Formulary serves as the primary reference document for MOH personnel and T&CM practitioners, containing the list of products allowed to be used for Tas guidance for healthcare facilities.

The MOH T&CM Formulary serves as the primary reference document for MOH personnel and T&CM practitioners, containing the list of products allowed to be used for T&CM services offered at MOH Healthcare Facilities, and information regarding prescription, dispensing, product counseling, and relevant matters. This formulary aims to support the safe, quality, and rational use of T&CM products, in line with the service requirements and clinical and economic considerations at MOH healthcare facilities.

The Guidelines for Listing and Delisting of T&CM Products in the MOH Healthcare Facilities were introduced to provide guidance on the application process for listing, delisting, or amendments to product information in the MOH T&CM Formulary. Technical evaluation of the applications will be conducted by the MOH T&CM Formulary Technical Committee, to be submitted for the consideration and decision of the Director General of Health.

The Formulary and Guidelines take effect on 5 February 2026 [Reference: Surat Pekeliling Ketua Pengarah Kesihatan Bil. 2/2026 [Reference number KKM.600-1/4/29 JLD.3(1)] Suggestions or comments can be e-mailed to the Secretariat at This email address is being protected from spambots.
