Following the meeting with the State Islamic Religious Departments (JAIN) on 12 November 2024, a proposal paper on Registration Method for Islamic Medical Practice Practitioners After the End of the Transitional Period was presented at the T&CM Council Meeting on 7 April 2024.

The Council members agreed that:

1. The registration of Islamic Medical Practice practitioners is via two methods as follows.

     (i)  Possess a recognised qualification, namely DKM 4: Ruqyah Treatment, or

(ii) Fulfilment of the i-Syifa’ screening requirements.

2. JAIN is permitted to impose an i-Syifa screening fee not exceeding RM100.00 and this fee is separate from the registration application fee payable to the T&CM Council.

Therefore, starting from 1 June 2025, all practitioners who wish to register for Islamic Medical Practice via the i-Syifa’ screening method must first apply to undergo the i-Syifa’ screening at the respective JAIN based on their place of residence. Only practitioners who have passed the i-Syifa’ screening will be allowed to apply for registration under the T&CM Council.
