ORAL HEALTH PROMOTION WEEK

 

     
     
             

 

Dental health promotion activities are actively carried out according to the chosen theme during the week in all states. Various dental health promotion activities such as dental health education talks, exhibitions, dental health screenings, preventive treatments and competitions are conducted throughout the week.

 

 

ORAL HEALTH PROGRAM FOR TRAINEE TEACHERS

 

         
     
 

 

This is one of the oral health promotion initiatives designed for trainee teachers in Institut Pendidikan Guru Malaysia (IPGM). The objective is to empower trainee teachers on good oral health practices so that they can be role models and help to improve students’ oral health status.

 

 

DENTAL ICON IGG

 

                 

 

Dental icon is a special programme whereby influential individuals in the community are trained on oral health education modules. The main objective of this initiative is to disseminate oral health information more widely and to empower the community to take action and improve their oral health status.

 

 

KESIHATAN ORAL TANPA AMALAN MEROKOK (KOTAK)

          

 KOTAK is an early smoking detection and intervention programme designed for all primary and secondary school children throughout the country. It is a strategic partnership between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education (MOE) with the main objective of reducing smoking prevalence among school children.

 

 

LATIHAN MEMBERUS GIGI BERKESAN (BEGIN)

         

Dental plaque is a one of the main risk factors of dental caries and gum diseases. Therefore, it is crucial to inculcate dental plaque control as early as possible to achieve optimal oral health status. BEGIN is an oral health promotion activity that promotes and instills effective tooth brushing habits among school children with the aim of controlling dental plaque and inculcating a positive behaviour towards oral health.
