DENTAL PUBLIC HEALTH

Dental public health is an area of dentistry concerned with the evaluation of dental health needs and how the practice of dental healthcare meets those needs. It aims to improve the oral health of the population through both broad-based community approach and individual risk-based approach. Dental Public Health specialists provide leadership and guidance in the development of oral health policy, management of oral health programmes in the prevention of oral diseases and promotion of oral health and also clinical governance of dental practices. Dental Public Health specialists work in collaboration with relevant parties in advocating oral health to ensure optimal and sustainable oral health status of individuals in the community.
