PERIODONTICS

Periodontics is the specialty of dentistry that focus extensively on:

  1. Prevention of periodontal and peri-implant diseases
  2. Full mouth periodontal assessment, investigation, and achievement of diagnoses 
  3. Treatment of diseases related to tooth supporting structures (periodontium) including gum (gingiva), alveolar bone, periodontal ligament, cementum, and peri-implant (soft and hard tissues).

Treatment of periodontal and peri-implant diseases and conditions phases are as follows:

  1. Initial Therapy 

Initial treatment to arrest the infection such as oral hygiene education, scaling and root surface debridement.

  1. Corrective Therapy

Treatment phase involving surgical correction of periodontal and peri-implant tissues and/or alveolar bone defect. These include complex surgical periodontal and peri-implant tissue regeneration and/or reconstructive procedures.

  1. Supportive Periodontal and Peri-Implant Therapy

Supportive phase for maintenance of periodontal and peri-implant health after stabilization of the diseases via continuous monitoring of oral hygiene care and risk factors.

  1. Oral Rehabilitation Therapy

Treatment phase where surgical procedure is performed to facilitate the construction of dental prosthesis. These include surgical placement of dental implant screw and reconstruction of alveolar ridge.
