

GOVERNANCE
The Special Interest Group (SIG) – Internal Medicine Initiative is managed through clear roles and structures to ensure it runs smoothly, stays accountable, and follows the Ministry of Health’s goals. This good management helps provide high-quality, fair, and local services, while keeping patients safe and maintaining training standards in all facilities involved.The key roles and responsibilities of each entity are summarized as below :
Strategic oversight, training programme governance, recommendation for certification, appeals review, expansion planning, TOR
Strategic policy direction, certification issuance, final reference for appeals/termination/credentialing, resource planning, national coordination and data monitoring.
Nominate and endorse trainees, facility-level implementation, protected time, service support, continuity of care, local resource allocation.
Training delivery, workplace-based assessments (WPBA) and progress monitoring, feedback and final report, compliance with supervision standards, coordination with hospitals and SIG Committee.
Active participation in training and SIG service delivery, logbook and assessment completion, timely submission for certification.
