ANNUAL PRACTISING CERTIFICATE (APC)

Dental practitioners must apply for the Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) through the Malaysian Healthcare Practitioners' System  (MHPS). The application process, including payment of the required fees, is completed entirely online, ensuring a fast and secure transaction. Once the application and payment are successfully submitted, the APC will be issued. The APC must be renewed each year, with applications for the following year submitted to the Malaysian Dental Council (MDC) no later than 1 November of the current year.

TEMPORARY PRACTISING CERTIFICATE (TPC)

Temporary Practicing Certificate is issued to a non-Malaysian  citizen who  has been   registered as a dental surgeon outside Malaysia. The TPC issued shall be in force for a maximum period of twelve (12)   months  depending on the conditions and restrictions imposed.

CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD)

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a continuing learning process that enables practitioners to maintain and improve their performance across all areas of their practice through the development of knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviours. 

It covers all learning activities, both formal and informal, through which practitioners are continuously updated. It also contributes to delivery of safe and high quality care to the patient. In line with the Dental Act 2018, accumulation of CPD points is required for application of the Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) or Temporary Practicing Certificate (TPC) to practice in Malaysia. All practitioners who practice in Malaysia, citizens and non-citizens, are subject to this requirement.
