Do You Have Questions

You will be recognised as SIG Geriatric Medicine. You will be rewarded a completion Certificate. You may have positive impact on career pathway.

No you will not. However, you will be delivering fundamental geriatric care and will be the Liasion Officer to nearby Geriatric centre.

Those who have completed the Training Programme – Privileging by respective hospital committee after endorsement given by SIG Geriatric Medicine Committee.

Yes, depending on the situation that permits you to apply and granted by the SIG Geriatric Medicine Committee.

Talk to your Trainers first and discuss on this matter. However if you still decide that it’s not for you, you will need to write in an official letter to the SIG Geriatric Medicine Committee. The SIG Geriatric Medicine Committee will review your decision and may act further on it.

You may be able to use the certificate in private facilities or services as a prove that you are well-versed with geriatric care.

Geriatric Medicine is a vast field dealing with complex medical issues pertaining to the Older Adults. Knowledge and experience to address these complicated multi-system management, including discharge planning requires time. There is also emphasized on good communication skills, ability to work together in a team and development of leadership skills within the Training Programme.

You are required to do an attachment to a nearby Geriatric center to complete your logbook with a total of 50 days total logged in.

This can be done based on discussion with your Trainers, HOD and Hospital Director.
