(a) Information Regarding the Process for Registration of Local Traditional & Complementary Medicine (T&CM) Practitioners and Issuance of Temporary Practising Certificate for Foreign Nationals.
i. The screening process for registration of local T&CM practitioners and issuance of Temporary Practising Certificate for foreign nationals will be conducted in stages. In the first stage, the payment receipt will be issued to the applicant when complete documentation is received. Applicants will be informed by the officer via phone or in writing if the documentation is incomplete.
ii. Only applications with complete documentation will be reviewed in the second stage. At this stage, a thorough screening will be done to check for authenticity of certificates and academic transcripts, proof of experience in the recognized practice area (if relevant) as well as other certified documents. [If there are any doubts, or if additional feedback is required, the applicant will be informed by the officer via phone or in writing]
iii. Applications that have made it through both stages of screening will be evaluated at the Registration Screening Panel (RSP) Meeting before being brought to the T&CM Council for approval.
iv. The RSP and T&CM Council Meetings are scheduled once every 2 months or as required. A letter of notification will then be issued to applicants to inform them of the outcome of their application.
v. Applicants are advised to be patient throughout the process. The process may take between one to three months from the date of receipt of complete documentation. However, this process may take longer if additional information or explanation is required.
(b) Information on Processes of Application For/ Renewal of Registered Practitioner’s Practising Certificate (Local practitioners only)
i. The screening process for application for/ renewal of Registered Practitioner’s Practising Certificate will be conducted in stages. In the first stage, the payment receipt will be issued to the applicant when complete documentation is received. Applicants will be informed by the officer via phone or in writing if the documentation is incomplete.
ii. Only applications with complete documentation will be reviewed in the second stage. At this stage, a thorough screening of documents will be done. [If there are any doubts, or if additional feedback is required, the applicant will be informed by the officer via phone or in writing]
iii. For applications that have successfully made it through both stages of screening, a letter of notification along with the Practising Certificate will be sent to the applicant.
iv. Applicants are advised to be patient throughout the process. For first time applications, the process may take between one to two months from the date of receipt of complete documentation while the process time for renewal applications is one month from the date of receipt of complete documentation. However, this process may take longer if additional information or explanation is required.
(c) Information Regarding Issuance of Certificate of Exemption (For relevant applicants), Registered Practitioner Certificate and Registered Practitioner’s Practising Certificate

i. For first time applicants who have successfully registered with the T&CM Council, all three certificates will be sent simultaneously together with the letter of notification after the work processes (a) and (b) above are completed.
ii. For the renewal of the Registered Practitioner's Practising Certificate, only the Registered Practitioner's Practising Certificate will be sent together with the letter of notification after the work process (b) is completed.
